Canadian Personalities

a.) Which category of Canadian Personalities interested you the most? Did you like the "we inspired", "we founded", "we fought", "we built" or "we governed" section the best? Why?

I liked " we inspired" the most because believe it does inspire, the great candain hero's does imspire us> The part that i like about it was their stories. The most story that I was interested in was Mordecai Richler, which was a writer. He inspired me, because he never gave up, he worked hard and didn't give up. The quote from Mordecai Richler that i though was intersting was: " look at the newspapers and the sports results or write letters, but I come up and try every day. You can’t wait for the good days, you have to earn them, and it’s only by coming up here and sweating it out."

b.) Which personality interested you the most? Why? Find an image of him or her to embed (add to the body of your post) and write, in your own words, a short description of what he or she did and why he or she is your favourite. If you get information from any source, you must credit it by creating a link to it (that includes information from the site that I've asked you to look at).

The personality that interesting the most was Gabrielle Roy, the writer, I serched her from sites, and read her biography in wikipedia, she is a very inspiring writer. I like her because she has a good timeline, and 1929, she became a techer, then a writer which is good, because when you a are a teacher you have better thoughts on wring a book, I always thought of being, aa techer also, but I just sticked with the idea of being a writer.

c.) In your post, suggest three more influential Canadian personalities that could be added to this site. Why did you choose these people? Which categories would they fit into?

Ian Adams ("we inspire")
b. 1937
novelist, non-fiction
Agent of Influence

Gail Anderson-Dargatz ("we inspire")
b. 1963
novelist
The Cure for Death by Lightning

Lisa Appignanes("we inspire")
b. 1946
novelist, biographer
Losing the Dead: A Family Memoir
b. 1968
horror fiction

They are great candian writers. I have read of their biography, and they have a very intersting life. These great canadains are well known for being a great literture. These candains, were writers, from the 1900 to 2000s. I hope they make good books, and when I get older I hope I get successful, like these writers.

D) Which History-Maker did you have the most in common with? The History- Maker I had the most common was Thomas (tom) Longboat.

Were you able to figure it out from the clues given?

It was a bit hard even, with the clues, but I found out after I clicked on the last link. What do you share with that person?

What do you share with that person? We both, have one brother and two sisters.

What are some things that are different between you and that person?

Thomas is a famous, runner athlete and I particluty don't enjoy being a runner.

5) Vote on your favourite Canadian personality. (Click on the link to vote)

I voted for Gabrielle Roy, becasue she is a great role modle to others and has really great courage.

e)8. Think long and hard about this part and then post an answer to this question on your blog: One hundred years from now, (in 2109!) imagine that students are learning about Canadian History Makers and they discover you. What will you be remembered for? How were you a Canadian History Maker? You are using your imagination, so think about some things that you would like to accomplish in your life and imagine that you have all the accomplishments of your life to look back on. Write a short profile of yourself, imagining the contributions you have made to the future of Canada. (Write this as though you've lived your whole life. You may have been a phenomenal athlete, the first black Prime Minister, cured cancer...use your imagination!)

Maryan Mohamed, was born, in Ottawa, Ontario, in 1995. Maryan was a very bright student, she always felt that life needed a change. So, in 2078, she wrote a book, about world peace which was canada's bestseller book. In 2090, she went to the parliment a protest, because she felt that having wars were very bad, and she didn't like them to ruin her country. So, it didnt work out. But then she decide to be more like, rosa parkers, martin luther king jr, ect, and make people listen to her,so she made a speech, in the parliment in 2100. Suddenly, they stopped wars in each country because of Maryan's speech, they felt guilt of killing, and felt that fight wa no ponit because it was just never ending. So, in 2107, they declared Maryan to be the first candain, to be a peace maker. In 2108 she wrote a book called' Save me' which was the first bestseller of north america. Maryan is a famous writer, and a great peace maker. She makes people to listen to her words.

It is really cold!

It is a bit, hard to come travel in the cold and trying to settle there. If we were even to walk a mile in a bad weather we wouldn't want that, but the question is why do, early settler come to Canada, they do know the weather conditions. But why Canada? What makes us want to come? Well, in Quebec, First Nations Peoples and Inuit who raised vegetable crops, the industries are: forestry, energy (hydroelectricity) and mining (asbestos, gold, copper, silver and iron ore), (main producer of) pulp and paper, farming, tourism, chemical, textile, transportation, aeronautics and space industry.

Algonquin and Iroquois First nations were the earliest, people to settle Ontario. It might, not been, a great place, of weather condition but it had major industries include service, manufacturing ( auto and auto parts, other transportation equipment, steel machinery, metal, plastic, chemical products)
